Scholarship for the Students with Disabilities
500 Scholarships (National Fund) for Differently-Abled Students for academic year 2013-14
National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), for and on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, invite applications from Students with Disabilities for award of Scholarship Scheme (National Fund)
Scholarship Scheme (National Fund):
Under this scheme, 500 National Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students with disabilities for pursuing higher academic/professional or technical qualification
Application Form: Applicant has to apply online www.nhfdc.nic.in for scholarship from 01st July, 2013 to 30th September, 2013 and scholarship shall be awarded once in a academic year under this scheme Applicant has to submit hard copy of the application duly recommended by the head of the institution
Scholarship of Rs.1000/- p.m. for hostellers and Rs.700/-p.m. for day scholars studying in professional courses at graduation and above level, and Rs.700/-p.m. for hostellers and Rs.400/-p.m. for day scholars pursuing Diploma/Certificate level professional courses
Course fee reimbursed upto ceiling of Rs.10,000/- per year
Financial assistance can be given for computer with editing software for blind/deaf graduate and post graduate students pursuing professional courses and for support access software for cerebral palsy students Monthly income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian should not be more than Rs.15,000/- (Rs. 1.80 Lakh p.a.) from all sources
Family income includes income of parent/guardian
Scholarship holder under this scheme will not concurrently hold any other scholarship/stipend. If already any other scholarship/stipend awarded, the student is required to exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same
How to apply:
The applicant has to apply online www.nhfdc.nic.in and the printed application form along with requisite documents duly countersigned and recommended by the head of the institution, where they are studying, should reach to: National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), Red Cross Bhawan, Sector-12, Faridabad-121007
It is to be noted that without a hard copy of application, a candidate’s application in soft copy will not be entertained
List of enclosures along with hard copy of application:
Academic record – attested copies of relevant certificates/mark sheets for the qualifying exam
Proof of annual income- Proof of income shall include last salary slip of parent/guardian, acknowledgement of income tax/income certificate e from revenue official/gazetted officer/public representative e.g. MP, MLA, MLC, Panchayat officials etc.;

Attested copy of Disability certificate;
Course fee receipt if any, duly paid during the academic session;

In case of continuation of scholarship in a succeeding year, a copy of the mark sheet of the preceding year
